Voss Prime
Voss Prime is an Adeptus Mechanicus forge world in the Mordan Belt, nearest to Armageddon, and is known as the Right Hand of Mars. The title marks its standing as a principal industrial dependant of the Martian priesthood, and the mineral wealth of the belt in which it lies underpins its output.
The world manufactures ships, aircraft and guns at a volume comparable with that of the Crusade era, which places it among the more productive forge worlds of the Imperium. Its production is nevertheless incomplete: it has not fully mastered the making of plasma weaponry, a limitation that separates it from the most advanced Martian foundries. Its proximity to Armageddon, itself a heavily industrialised and strategically contested world, gives the forge world a practical role as a source of materiel and a staging point for operations in that region.
Voss Prime appears at two recorded points in the later timeline. During the Noctis Aeterna, daemons attacked the world, an assault that fell within the wider disruption of the Great Rift and the darkness that accompanied it. Marneus Calgar of the Ultramarines later mustered Operation Imperator on Voss Prime for the Fourth War for Armageddon, so the forge world served as a gathering point for the forces committed to that campaign. Contemporaries in these events include Armageddon, the Ultramarines and the Adeptus Mechanicus of Mars, its parent authority.
In the current era Voss Prime remains an active forge world under the Adeptus Mechanicus. Its position within the wider setting, and the exact terms of its relationship with Mars and with Armageddon, are recorded with low confidence, and accounts differ on the detail. On the Orrery map it is anchored at Voss Prime, and its timeline entry is linked to the Forge World hook.
