Conclave at Baal

The Conclave at Baal was a gathering of Blood Angels successor Chapter Masters summoned by Commander Dante to Baal in the latter decades of M41, after a Word Bearers plot nearly collapsed the Blood Angels into civil war and left the Chapter urgently short of recruits. Dante requested a tithe of recruits from the cousin Chapters. Gabriel Seth of the Flesh Tearers refused vehemently, arguing that his Chapter was already too reduced to spare men, and in private suggested that the Blood Angels be disbanded so the Flesh Tearers might take over the rule of Baal. When mutants unleashed by Fabius Bile attacked the crypt of Sanguinius, Seth fought beside Dante in its defence. Afterwards he addressed Dante as a true battle-brother and pledged the men the Blood Angels needed — a reversal that surprised Dante and convinced the other Masters to make the same pledge. Several months later Seth passed a piece of information that helped the Blood Angels track a clone of Bile who had stolen the blood of Sanguinius.
