Fortis Binary action
The Fortis Binary action was a large-scale engagement fought by the Tanith First-and-Only on the forge world of Fortis Binary during the Sabbat Worlds Crusade. The regiment, more accustomed to stealth and reconnaissance operations, was committed to the defence of the world’s manufactoria and forge complexes against Archenemy incursion, one of many industrial worlds contested as the Crusade pressed toward the Sabbat Worlds’ heart. Fighting centred on the dense infrastructure characteristic of a forge world: fortified manufactoria, servitor-tended production lines, and cramped conduit networks that channelled combat into close-quarters actions ill-suited to conventional massed assault. Ghosts’ companies were deployed to infiltrate and clear these industrial strongholds sector by sector, working alongside armoured and artillery support to reduce fortified Archenemy positions entrenched amid the forge world’s machinery. The action is remembered within the regiment’s history as a demonstration of its capacity to adapt established infiltration doctrine to the unfamiliar rigours of industrial siege warfare, in contrast to the jungle and open-terrain campaigns for which the Tanith First-and-Only were more widely known. Imperial forces ultimately secured the contested forge sectors, at a cost that reinforced the regiment’s reputation for endurance amid the Crusade’s broader forge-world campaigns.
