Halo Scar expedition losses
The Halo Scar expedition losses are the recurrent disappearances of Imperial expeditions sent into the Halo Stars and the Halo Scar. The term describes a pattern rather than a single incident. Imperial expeditions entering the Halo Stars and the Halo Scar routinely vanish. The losses recur across successive expeditions and are not confined to one occasion. The rim of the Obscurus is associated with the same disappearances and has acquired a reputation as a haunted region. The losses are significant chiefly as the basis of that reputation. The present account records the pattern of disappearance but gives no explanation of its cause or of the fate of the expeditions concerned.
