Invasion of Taladorn
The Invasion of Taladorn was fought in 969.M41 on the industrial world Taladorn against Warsmith Shon’tu’s Sons of the Forge. No segmentum is recorded for the world. First Captain Darnath Lysander arrived aboard the battle barge Storm of Wrath after two months of occupation, joined a stalled Blood Angels void action, then deployed by drop pod and teleport to the Forgeheart. Ultramarines under Captain Cato Sicarius offered reinforcements; Lysander refused, treating the battle as Imperial Fists vengeance alone. The 3rd Company was nearly destroyed. Recalled to the Phalanx, Lysander was stripped of the 1st Company and placed in command of the rebuilt 3rd for the Crusade of Thunder. Sergeant Tor Garadon served as second-in-command to Captain Julius Vogen of the 3rd Company. When a Maulerfiend killed Vogen in the Forgeheart, Garadon took command, destroyed the Daemon Engine with lascannon fire, and pressed the company toward Lysander’s fight in the command spire. After a Heldrake forced a Stormraven down through 3rd Company lines and Garadon’s right arm was shattered by an autocannon shell, he formally accepted Captain Cato Sicarius’s offer of Ultramarines Terminator aid against Lysander’s continuing refusal, activated his teleport homer, and brought thirty Ultramarines Terminators into the battle. He took little further part in the scouring: the Apothecaries judged him unfit. He later testified before Chapter Master Vladimir Pugh to Lysander’s conduct on Taladorn. Captain Cato Sicarius had entered the system aboard the strike cruiser Valin’s Revenge with the Ultramarines 2nd Company and helped drive off the Iron Warriors blockade before making his first offer. Once his help was accepted, the thirty Ultramarines Terminators were followed to the surface by the 2nd Company, arriving in two Thunderhawks, and then by the Blood Angels Death Company under Captain Erasmus Tycho, and the battle turned. Over the following days, as the remaining Iron Warriors were destroyed, Lysander refused to speak to Sicarius or to Tycho.
