Slyte manifested in Petropolis when Carl Thonius’s flect habit finished what Cognitae pressure had started on Eustis Majoris. Ravenor’s warband fought a daemon wearing their interrogator while Zael Efferneti’s gift made every corridor louder. The hive became a climax instead of a workplace. Thonius did not walk out. Slyte did, long enough to teach the Ordos why habits are weapons.
