Ork raid and Necron awakening

The Ork raid and Necron awakening was a campaign fought on Simia Orichalcae, an ice world whose economy was based on promethium refineries. Accounts differ on its date: Cain’s biography placed it in the year following the Gravalax Incident of 931.M41, while the chronology table left the events, recorded in the novel Caves of Ice, undated between 931 and 936.M41. Commissar Ciaphas Cain and the Valhallan 597th held a promethium refinery against an Ork attack. They then flooded caverns beneath the refinery, which concealed a Necron tomb, with promethium and detonated it, leaving a crater where the tomb had been; the Guard subsequently evacuated the world.
