Raid on Ogrys

The Raid on Ogrys was a Red Corsairs attack in early M42 on Ogrys, the ruined home world of the Invaders Chapter, which the Imperium was rebuilding for them. Huron Blackheart devised it to curb his ambitious lieutenant Verngar, who had demanded a fleet for the invasion of Chogoris, and he accompanied Verngar aboard the captured battle barge Macragge’s Honour to judge his command. The raiders seized a Laskar-class star fort and carried it off. When the Red Wolves defied Verngar’s orders he turned the Ebon Talon on their ship, the Wolf of Fenris; Huron intervened, deflected the relic’s fire onto the Warpsmith Turazan through his bond with the Hamadrya, struck Verngar down and cut off the hand that held the Talon, which he then entrusted to his Forge Master, Armanneus Valthex, aboard the Spectre of Ruin. The Red Corsairs were driven from the system by an Ultramarines relief force.
