Recruitment of Patience Kys

Following the events at Majeskus, Gideon Ravenor’s warband traced the Cognitae network’s teaching apparatus to Sameter, in the Urbitane district, where the trail of Zygmunt Molotch’s old associates again grew warm. The investigation centred on an establishment calling itself the Kindred Youth Scholam, ostensibly a school for gifted and troubled children. The Scholam was, in truth, a Cognitae front, administered by Ludovic Kyro under the alias Berto Cyrus, who used the institution to identify and cultivate psychically talented youths for the network’s own purposes. Ravenor’s retinue uncovered the deception and moved against Kyro’s operation there. Among the Scholam’s pupils, the retinue identified a young telekine of considerable and unrefined power. Removed from Kyro’s custody, she was taken into Ravenor’s warband and given the name by which she would afterwards be known, Patience Kys, becoming in time one of the most formidable members of his retinue. The recruitment took place in the decades after the Thracian Atrocity and before the warband’s extended operations on Eustis Majoris.
