Task Force Gauntlet
Task Force Gauntlet was an Imperial Fists operation on the mining world Vernalis in the Segmentum Obscurus. No narrower year than M41 is recorded. First Captain Darnath Lysander commanded a mixed force of the 1st Company, elements of the 5th Company, and Scout squads of the 10th Company. The force defeated a Chaos warband of Emperor’s Children Legionaries, the Roaring Blades traitor guard regiment, and daemons led by the arch-traitor Sybaris. The engagement is also called the Scouring of Vernalis.
