Vernalis

Vernalis is a barren mining world in the Segmentum Obscurus. No sector, system, or coordinates finer than that segmentum are recorded.

Its landscape is jagged flint and shale under a grey sky, with vast oceans of oil that support a sparse petrochemical industry dependent on imported food and water. First Captain Darnath Lysander commanded Task Force Gauntlet there — a mixed force of the Imperial Fists 1st Company, elements of the 5th, and Scout squads of the 10th — and defeated a Chaos warband of Emperor’s Children, the Roaring Blades traitor guard, and daemons led by the arch-traitor Sybaris.
