Armageddon System

The Armageddon System is the hive-industrial star system of Segmentum Solar whose principal world, Armageddon, has become Imperial shorthand for grinding land war. It sits in the Armageddon Sub-sector of the Armageddon Sector, inward of Cadia and close enough to Terra that every reinforcement bill is paid in blood and tank hulls.

Angron's First War, Ghazghkull's later Waaaghs, and the Season of Blood have all spent armies across this system's ash wastes, orbital docks, and sister rocks such as Pelucidar and Chosin. Steel Legion columns still fight in sealed tanks while stations named for Yarrick and Mannheim hang over the same gravity well that keeps eating crusades. Some later histories even claim the hive world is Ullanor relocated after the War of the Beast.

Whatever its origin, the system remains a Segmentum Solar meat-grinder rather than a backwater pin. The Imperium cannot abandon a hive cluster this close to Terra, which is why the Armageddon System still draws fleets long after any sane accountant would have written the place off.
