Angron

Primarch of the XII Legion, Daemon Prince of Khorne

Also known as The Red Angel, Angronius of Nuceria, Lord of the Red Sand, Lord of the Red Sands, The Fighter

Homeworld: Nuceria

Angron is the primarch of the World Eaters, the XII Legion of Space Marines, also called the Red Angel, Angronius of Nuceria, and the Lord of the Red Sand. Cast as an infant onto the Civilised World of Nuceria, he was taken by High-Rider slavers, forced into the arenas of Desh’ea, and implanted with the psycho-surgical devices known as the Butcher’s Nails. He rose as an unbeaten gladiator, led a slave revolt into the mountains, and was teleported away against his will by the Emperor of Mankind on the eve of his comrades’ last stand, leaving him permanently embittered toward the Imperium that claimed him.

Given command of the War Hounds, he renamed them the World Eaters and drove them toward conquest within a single Nucerian day, punishing failure with decimation and ordering the Nails implanted across the Legion. In the Golgothan Slaughter he broke the Brotherhood of Ruin upon Sarum and made that forge world a forward base. At the Night of the Wolf he fought Leman Russ over the Nails and the massacre of the defeated. On Ghenna the Legion’s compliance ended in civil bloodshed and the perfected Nails. When Horus rebelled, Angron spoiled the Isstvan III plan by descending early upon the surviving Loyalists, stood among the Traitor primarchs at the Isstvan V Drop Site Massacre, and later joined Lorgar Aurelian in the Shadow Crusade. At Armatura and again on Nuceria he fought Guilliman; on Nuceria Lorgar’s ritual raised him as a daemon prince of Khorne. Perturabo later forced him from Deluge to the Traitor muster at Ullanor.

In the Siege of Terra he smashed through the Lion’s Gate and Eternity Wall spaceports and met Sanguinius before the Eternity Gate, where accounts record his banishment after the Angel tore free the Nails. After the Heresy he led Khornate wars that included the Dominion of Fire and, in 444.M41, the First War for Armageddon, where Grey Knights banished him. In the Era Indomitus he destroyed the Choral Engine at Malakbael, fought Dante and Lion El’Jonson on Wyrmwood at the Battle of Idolatros, and returned again through the Red Angel’s Gate in the Season of Blood on Armageddon.

Nuceria, the Isstvan theatres, Terra’s Palace approaches, and Armageddon mark the principal stages of a career defined by enslavement, rage, and the Blood God’s service.
