Cygnax System

The Cygnax System (also spelled Gygnax) is a militarised hive world of the northern Maelstrom Zone, Karthago Sector, lifeless since 577.M41. The system also contains Bellerophon’s Fall, an industrial moon of the gas giant Crysaor.

In 577.M41, death cults and the Reborn seized the world’s atomic weapons and used them to burn every living thing from its surface. The loss of Cygnax disrupted the Imperial chain of the Maelstrom Zone for several decades. Bellerophon’s Fall remains in the system alongside the dead world, and the worlds of Sagan and Badab took on the functions that Cygnax could no longer perform.

Cygnax retains its standing as a lynchpin of the Maelstrom Zone, although it is no longer a hive. Unofficial fan notes continue to place it within the Karthago Sector.
