Drazak

Drazak, called the Bone Kingdom, is a Necron tomb world in the Ghoul Stars given over to the Flayed Ones, Necrons afflicted by the Flayer virus. Its awakened dynasty never returned to coherent rule; instead the world’s streets and vaults became the haunt of Necron warriors whose reanimated minds have decayed beyond repair, and who prowl in search of flesh to strip from the living. Drazak stands apart from tomb worlds shaped by the Destroyer cult: where Destroyers embrace a doctrine of annihilation, Drazak’s affliction is pathological rather than ideological, a slow ruin of the mind rather than a chosen creed.

One Necron alone is recorded as retaining sufficient sanity to impose order on this kingdom of the deranged: Valgûl, known as the Fallen Lord, who commands what discipline the Flayed Ones can still muster. When Drazak’s stores of harvested flesh run out, Valgûl declares a Time of Bounty, and the Flayed Ones spill outward from their world to raid neighbouring systems of the Ghoul Stars for fresh gore before returning to their kingdom to gorge and fall quiet once more.

The Sautekh Dynasty, whose reach extends through the wider Ghoul Stars, treats Drazak as a contained affliction rather than an asset, and works to keep the Bone Kingdom’s raids confined to the region’s northeast rather than let the Flayer virus spread among its own warriors. This makes Drazak a point of quiet tension between Sautekh administration and the feral court of Valgûl: the dynasty tolerates the Fallen Lord’s rule only so long as the Time of Bounty does not reach further than its accustomed bounds.

Drazak’s present status is that of a bordered hazard: a tomb world left to its own corrupted order within a region already notorious for lawlessness, its periodic raids serving as the clearest sign, to those who chart the Ghoul Stars, of when the Bone Kingdom’s hunger has again outrun its stores.
