Fenris System

The Fenris System is the Space Wolves' home star system, a lethal cluster of ice worlds, death moons, and wolf-named stations around the world-ocean of Fenris. It sits in the Svarteldari Sub-sector, and the Fang on Asaheim is the fortress that names the pack for the rest of the galaxy.

Fenris itself swallows islands with each season, while sister worlds such as Midgardia, Frostheim, Svellgard, and Valdrmani have all taken blows meant for the Fang. Magnus and the Thousand Sons have more than once tried to break this system rather than duel Russ in open space, and void hulks still drift in the outer dark as leftovers of those raids. Stations such as Gormenjarl and Mjalnar keep watch over the same approaches the Rout uses to launch its own hunts.

The Fenris System still matters because the Space Wolves will not be based anywhere else. A death-world sun and a handful of frozen rocks are a poor trade for a forge-fortress, but they are the only home the Vlka Fenryka will acknowledge.
