Logan Grimnar is the Great Wolf of the Space Wolves, a Fenrisian king who has held the Chapter longer than most Imperial commanders hold a campaign. He rides to war on a chariot of wolves and treats High Lords as men who have forgotten what a promise weighs.
He led the Imperial defence of the Cadian Gate in the 13th Black Crusade, stood with Azrael long enough to fight the Archenemy instead of each other, and has never forgiven the Inquisition for the Months of Shame. Fenris is his hearth. The rest of the Imperium is a freeze he visits with an axe.
Russ has not returned. Grimnar keeps the hall anyway. That is what a Great Wolf is for.
