Ghaslakh

Ghaslakh is a reputed Ork capital on the Eastern Fringe, rimwards of Sotha, that Horus cited as the pretext for assembling forces at Calth. It is described as a xenohold, a settlement held by a non-human species, and is recorded under the Ultima Segmentum as a possibly real Ork empire.

Orders issued in the name of the Warmaster described Ghaslakh as a rising threat and provided the reason for mustering Ultramarines and Word Bearers at Calth. Ultramarines patrols found some Orks raiding Golsoria, but fewer than the orders had indicated. After the Heresy, scholars disputed whether Ghaslakh existed or served only as a nominal justification for the betrayal at Calth. Enough reconnaissance survived that the question has not been settled.

Ghaslakh retains its significance as the pretext world for the events at Calth. Unofficial summaries keep its placement under Ultima and do not identify this Ork holding with Ullanor or Charadon.
