Gidrim

Gidrim is a Necron tomb world of the Sautekh Dynasty, the seat of Nemesor Zahndrekh and the centre of a small realm of roughly a dozen systems. It matters to the wider galactic story less for its own geography than for the ruler it holds: a Necron noble whose reawakening left him commanding a dynastic province while acting as though a far older war were still in progress.

Zahndrekh is recorded as continuing to conduct the War in Heaven, the ancient conflict between the Necrontyr and the Old Ones and their servitors, within his own mind. Gidrim is therefore the base from which a campaign against long-vanished enemies is directed, and its neighbouring systems are the ground on which that campaign is enacted. Attending him is Vargard Obyron, his bodyguard and closest companion, who is recorded as quietly removing the courtiers and prisoners who threaten the nemesor. Accounts differ on whether Zahndrekh is aware of these killings. The arrangement has nonetheless kept his command stable, and Gidrim has remained in his hands.

Gidrim sits within the sphere of the Sautekh Dynasty, whose Stormlord, Imotekh, is the principal figure of that realm. Zahndrekh serves within that structure, and the dynasty gains from his tenure a frontier commander who is militarily capable although mentally unsound. His contemporaries on the Orrery are therefore the Sautekh leadership around Imotekh and the wider Necron dynasties that woke in the same period, as well as the human and xenos powers whose worlds border his territory.

For map and timeline purposes, Gidrim is anchored to Zahndrekh’s world: the location where the nemesor, Obyron and the Sautekh chain of command meet in the present era. No fixed founding date or list of named sieges is attested here, and the world is best read as a continuing seat of power rather than the site of one defined battle. Its status in the current era is that of an active Sautekh holding, governed by Zahndrekh and defended by his Necron forces.
