Iax System

The Iax System is Ultramar's former garden-world star system, an agri well fertile enough to stand with Macragge and Konor by the end of the Great Crusade. Iax itself sat in the Ultramar Sub-sector until Mortarion's Plague Wars ended the garden.

Ku'gath's daemons and Death Guard rot turned a breadbasket into a warning. There is no second agri-world in this charted well to take the slack; Ultramar had to eat from elsewhere. Later Tetrarchy maps still name Iax because a dead garden is a political fact, not a footnote.

The Iax System still matters as proof that Ultramar's prosperity was never automatic. Unofficial fan maps keep the ultramar-subsector parent and do not pretend the garden recovered off-screen.
