Ignix

Ignix is the smallest Grand Banks fief of the Helican Subsector, a wet-mining world subject to seasonal electrocorporeal storms. Its capital was Foothold.

Wet miners on Ignix sifted hundreds of thousands of temporary waterways for ore. The electrocorporeal storms, known as the Cackle, crossed the surface each season and arose from orbital quirks and stellar weather. After the death of Flammel, Eisenhorn, then a young man, took over the Grand Banks patrol and closed the occult gate (regia occulta) through which Orks had killed settlers.

Ignix remains under the Helican Subsector, alongside Damask and Glavia, and does not form part of Thracian Primaris. It is recorded chiefly as a small mining fief and as the site of Eisenhorn’s closure of the gate against Ork raiders.
