Kiavahr

Kiavahr is a polluted forge world of hive-factories that supplies munitions on a scale approaching that of a full Mechanicus world. A forge world is a planet given over to industrial manufacture, and Kiavahr is recorded as producing arms and ammunition in bulk rather than the specialist engines associated with the great Mechanicus foundries. Of its four moons, only the innermost, Deliverance, is inhabited; the three outer moons are dead. In the Orrery map and timeline, Kiavahr is associated with the Raven Guard, the Legion of the primarch Corax, and its industrial base is the reason it recurs in accounts of that Legion.

The guilds that run Kiavahr’s hive-factories have been disrupted on two recorded occasions. The first is the revolt associated with Corax, which passed through the guilds and is the older of the two episodes. The second was a later rising by the Alpha Legion, which affected the guilds in the same way. Accounts of the details differ or are sparse, and this entry does not assign dates, casualties or outcomes that the established record does not state. What the two episodes share is that each was fought over the world’s manufacturing capacity, with the guilds caught between the parties to the conflict.

Kiavahr’s standing rests on its munitions output, which nearly equals that of a full Mechanicus world. That output explains why the Raven Guard and the Alpha Legion, two Legions with very different methods, each have a place in its history. Readers tracing the graph may follow Kiavahr to Corax and the Raven Guard for the first episode, to the Alpha Legion for the second, and to the Mechanicum for the wider context of forge world production. Its present status is not firmly recorded beyond its continued role as a munitions supplier.
