Masali

Masali is one of the Three Planets of Ultramar, an arid desert world converted to agricultural use to supply the Five Hundred Worlds. Its cultivation depends on horticultural domes and water traps, which allow crops to be grown on ground that is naturally dry.

Ork scavengers took possession of Masali in the aftermath of the Behemoth. During the later Plague Wars, Nurgle’s rot and the forces of the Death Guard struck the planet, affecting the greened surface that had been created from the desert.

Masali’s standing rests on its role as a food-producing world within Ultramar, serving the wider realm of the Five Hundred Worlds. Its occupation by Orks and its contamination by the Death Guard show that the planet has been exposed to successive attacks despite that value.
