Melchior System

The Melchior System is a star system in Segmentum Obscurus that was the site of a Great Crusade compliance action involving the Word Bearers and Luna Wolves. Compliance was the Great Crusade’s process of bringing a world under Imperial rule.

Melchior itself was the principal scene of the fighting. Five other bodies in the charted system lie close to it: Beta Rigel II, DeCora Spine, Orpheo Minoris, Sagan and Sagan’s Moon. Argel Tal learned there what a successful compliance could cost.

The Sagan in this system is the Segmentum Obscurus location and should not be confused with the Sagan in the Maelstrom. The Melchior System retains its standing chiefly through its association with the First Heretic, Argel Tal. Unofficial summaries consistently give Segmentum Obscurus as its parent region.
