Parmenio System

The Parmenio System is a star system of the Ultramar Sub-sector whose principal world serves as a training centre for the Ultramarines. The world exists to produce Space Marines rather than to export grain, and it is classed accordingly among the training worlds of Ultramar.

That function did not exempt the system from the Plague Wars, the campaign by which the Death Guard primarch Mortarion attacked Ultramar. Death Guard forces and their daemonic allies occupied the capital, Hecaton, and poisoned the ground around it. Roboute Guilliman led the counter-invasion and killed Septicus, a lieutenant of the daemon Ku’gath, in the streets of the city.

The Parmenio System remains a component of the Ultramar Sub-sector and is recorded as such, not as a peripheral entry within the wider Ultima Segmentum. Its standing rests on its role as a place of Ultramarines training that Mortarion sought to turn into a domain of decay. Unofficial fan notes on this site retain the Ultramar parent designation and do not classify the system as a minor agricultural world.
