Pavonis System

The Pavonis System is a mining system in Ultima Segmentum, home to cartel-senates and hive capitals such as Brandon Gate. It is the setting of the Nightbringer campaign.

The coup led by Kasimir de Valtos awakened a shard of a C’tan, a star-god, within a tomb at Tembra Ridge. Uriel Ventris’s 4th Company of the Ultramarines prevented the rendezvous of the flagship but could not prevent the entity’s escape.

The system is remembered chiefly as a mining senate whose political upheaval released a star-god shard. It lies in territory defended by the Ultramarines but is not counted among the inner Five Hundred Worlds of Ultramar. Unofficial summaries therefore place it under Ultima Segmentum and do not treat it as part of Ultramar proper.
