Uriel Ventris is Captain of the Ultramarines 4th Company, a son of Calth who has been exiled, sent on a Death Oath, and still ended up the Chapter's answer to problems the Codex does not cover. He took Tarsis Ultra off the hive fleet and paid for the improvisation.
Honsou made it personal. Ventris walked Medrengard, came home in disgrace, earned his colours back, and later met the Warsmith again in the invasion of Ultramar. The 4th is a line company. Its captain has a habit of leaving the line.
Guilliman's return did not make Ventris quieter. It just gave him a primarch who understands why the book is not always enough.
