Prefectia

Prefectia was an Imperial fortress and the gateway to the Dovar System, captured by Shadowsun in the Third Sphere and renamed Vas’talos by the Water Caste.

Shadowsun took the fortress during the Tau campaigns of the Third Sphere, removing the Imperial garrison that had held the approach to the Dovar System. Following the capture, the Water Caste gave the site the name Vas’talos. The variant Vos’talos appears as a spelling on some maps and refers to the same location.

The Tau and the Imperium assessed the loss differently. Tau propaganda described the capture as their greatest victory, whereas the Imperium’s authorities on Terra recorded it as a minor loss and directed their attention to Agrellan instead. Prefectia is a separate location from Agrellan and from Mu’gulath Bay.
