Scintilla

Scintilla is the capital of the Calixis Sector, comprising two hives, a walking city, a gun-foundry town and an Inquisitorial fortress in the Tricorn.

Social conditions on the world vary sharply between its settlements. Members of the nobility hunt lower-born inhabitants for sport, while the population of the middle hive labours to the point of death in order to meet the tithe, the levy owed by the world to the Imperium.

Much of the sector’s wealth, heresy and Redemptionist activity passes through Scintilla, which gives the world a standing beyond its own borders. One Black Crusade map places Scintilla considerably further north than other depictions do, and that placement is not followed here.
