Alizebeth Bequin

Alizebeth Bequin was an Imperial Blank in the retinue of Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn and the founder of the Distaff, his training house for blanks. Born on Bonaventure in 210.M41, she carried the rare pariah attribute that nullifies psychic and warp effects in her vicinity and that makes most humans instinctively recoil from her despite her beauty.

Eisenhorn recruited her on Hubris in 240.M41 during the cryotomb murders of Murdin Eyclone, when she was working under the pseudonym Lise B and killed an attacker who would otherwise have finished him. She posed as his wife in the infiltration of House Glaw on Gudrun, endured the carnodon arena and the fighting that followed, and by the end of the Necroteuch affair stood as a permanent retainer. She accompanied the retinue through Damask, the collapsing exchange at KCX-1288 and the assault on 56-Izar, where her intervention helped Eisenhorn kill the radical Konrad Molitor before the Saruthi Necroteuch burned. On Messina she founded and led the Distaff; by 337.M41 it numbered about forty blanks, and that null screen was instrumental in the Farness Beta assault that killed Quixos. She was also present on Thracian Primaris with Eisenhorn’s household for Lord Helican’s Triumph when the Chaos-tainted pilots struck.

In 386.M41 on Miquol, a polar island of the agri-world Durer, she channelled her null against the Chaos Titan Cruor Vult and suffered a catastrophic embolism. Placed on life support with recovery not expected, she died on Durer that year. Parallel Glaw hireling strikes burned the Distaff on Messina and Spaeton House on Gudrun while she lay incapacitated. In 461.M41 the ship holding her stasis tube was lost in transit; a Cognitae-made quasi-clone later known as Beta Bequin carried her name into the Queen Mab and City of Dust wars on Sancour.
