Tanith System

The Tanith System is a Sabbat Worlds forest well on the Pacificus/Tempestus chart line whose principal world grew nalwood trees that actually walked. Warmaster Slaydo sent Ibram Gaunt there to raise three Guard regiments; a Chaos splinter fleet burned the forests on founding day.

Only the Tanith First got off-world, and they have been a ghost regiment ever since. Stealth and an unfailing sense of direction are what the trees left them. The system is a grave, not a recruiting world that still pays a tithe.

The Tanith System still matters as the home the Ghosts cannot go back to. Unofficial summaries keep the mixed-segmentum parent and do not invent a surviving nalwood hive.
