Tyran System

The Tyran System is the Eastern Fringe ocean well that named the Tyranids, a quiet explorator address until 745.M41 when a hive fleet ate its seas, its biomass, and its name. Inquisitor Kryptman found the dead rock afterwards.

The Imperium has called that xenos Tyranids ever since. This is the naming world, not a later swarm front like Octarius or Tarsis Ultra, and not a second Tyran in some other segmentum.

The Tyran System still matters because every later hive fleet inherited this world's name. Unofficial summaries keep the Ultima parent and refuse to treat the pin as a living ocean.
