Vior’lus
Vior’lus, also called Vior’los, is a volcanic world of the Eastern Fringe and the capital of Commander Farsight’s Enclaves. Its name means “son of Vior’la”. It is a separate world from Vior’la, the binary-star sept of the Fire Caste, which has its own entry. This dossier places Vior’lus in the Ultima Segmentum.
Chains of volcanoes capped by the Earth Caste supply power to the Enclaves’ ruling junta, and Fire Caste academies stand along the planet’s tectonic seams. A warm saline ocean covers part of the surface, but the land remains inhospitable. Farsight returned from exile to defend the world against the Tyranids. He used a phage that also destroyed the biosphere he was trying to preserve. The world’s colours are deliberately inverted from those of Vior’la. The Tau Empire under Shadowsun still refers to the whole Forbidden Zone as a wound.
Vior’lus remains significant as the capital of the Enclaves, a status that does not make it a second Vior’la. The Trial by Fire is recorded in the dossier for the Vior’la system and is not repeated here. This entry is also separate from the general entry for the Farsight Enclaves as a region.
