Amit

Amit is recorded as the first Chapter Master of the Flesh Tearers, a Space Marine Chapter of Blood Angels descent established at the Second Founding. He is remembered chiefly as the commander under whom the Chapter took shape as a distinct body, separate from the parent Legion’s successor Chapter, the Blood Angels. He belongs to the Imperium of the 41st Millennium’s early Chapter history rather than to the Great Crusade or the Horus Heresy, and his name is attached to the Flesh Tearers’ founding tradition.

The Flesh Tearers drew their gene-seed from the Blood Angels and consequently inherited the flaws of that line, the Red Thirst and the Black Rage. Accounts describe Amit as the officer entrusted with leading the new Chapter through its earliest period, and later tradition holds that these inherited afflictions shaped its character from the outset. The Chapter’s recorded base is Cretacia, which Orrery uses as his map anchor. Detailed accounts of Amit’s individual campaigns, personal companions and rivals are sparse, and this dossier does not supply them where the record does not; the details of his career and his eventual fate are not firmly attested.

Amit’s significance lies in his position at the head of the Flesh Tearers’ founding, which ties him to the Blood Angels lineage, to Cretacia, and to the wider Second Founding on the timeline. His contemporaries are the Blood Angels’ leadership of the same period and the other successor Chapters raised from the Legion’s gene-seed. His present status is unknown, and later Chapter Masters of the Flesh Tearers, rather than Amit, are the figures most often recorded in the Chapter’s later history.
