Vorx

Vorx is a lord of the Death Guard, a Plague Marine who serves Nurgle as a Tallyman, ritually recording the plagues and kills of his war-band.

Vorx rose within the Death Guard as a Plague Marine whose mind, unlike those of many of his rotting brethren, retained a cold and disciplined focus. As Tallyman, he took on the office of counting: the plagues unleashed, the foes slain, the blasphemies committed, each recorded as an offering laid before Nurgle. He commands his own detachment of plague-blessed legionaries and daemon engines, warring as part of the wider host that answers to Mortarion, the Death Guard’s daemon primarch, and serving alongside senior figures of the Legion such as Typhus, First Captain and Herald of Nurgle, though no direct meeting between the two is recorded.

Vorx’s standing among the Death Guard rests on his singular office rather than on formal rank, exemplifying the Legion’s capacity to produce disciplined servants of decay even amid its general dissolution. He is active in the era following the opening of the Great Rift, when Mortarion’s fleets pressed their war across the Imperium Nihilus and beyond, and stands as a contemporary of the Death Guard’s other named champions of the present age. His origins before joining the Legion’s ranks, and the fuller course of his campaigns, are not established.
