Ignatius Grulgor

Ignatius Grulgor was captain of the Death Guard Second, the Barbarus officer called Eater of Lives who should have died on the Eisenstein and instead became a lesson in why Nurgle does not accept ship's airlocks as an ending. He infected Solun Decius before the seventy even reached Luna.

Isstvan III made him a traitor. The Eisenstein made him a corpse. Molech made him a resurrection. He came back as something the XIV could parade, then folded into Typhus's shadow until even that was not enough and the warp promoted him.

By the later war he was a daemon prince wearing a captain's grudges. Grulgor did not stay dead because death, in the Death Guard, is just another rank. The Eater of Lives kept eating, and the Legion learned not to file him under closed.
