Battle of Sparshad Mons
Blood Pact held Ancreon Sextus’s step-city Sparshad Mons until Imperial command quit the labyrinths and called orbital fire. Chaos had been driven from the ordinary cities into the rock compartments and archways Imperial doctrine refused to flatten as possible Emperor-shrines. Portals disguised as stone fed endless Pact troops and predators from off-world. Belladon Colonel Lucien Wilder led the 81st/1st Recon through that grind while Gaunt was still clearing Gereon. Not every regiment made the pull-back before the bombardment.
