Eyclone’s cryotomb massacre

Eyclone’s cryotomb massacre was Murdin Eyclone’s killing of Dormant sleepers in the cryotombs of Hubris in an attempt to resurrect Pontius Glaw. The killings took place during the long freeze, the period in which the population of Hubris lay asleep beneath the ice. Eisenhorn’s team arrived while the Sun Dome still maintained the one-percent watch and the remainder of the world slept. The ritual required mass death timed to the Hubris year, and Eyclone had carried it only part of the way when Eisenhorn stopped him. The attempt failed, and Pontius Glaw remained dead. The Pontius crystal and the longer conflict with House Glaw were not resolved on Hubris, and both remained off-world. In the same Hubris inquiry Eisenhorn recruited Alizebeth Bequin, a Blank then working under the pseudonym Lise B in a Sun Dome joy-house. She came to his notice when she killed an attacker during a raid on Eyclone’s residual cell, and he took her into temporary employment once he recognised the null aura that had made her an outcast. From Hubris she accompanied his retinue toward Gudrun and the Pontius trail.
