Invasion of Graia (Orks and Chaos)

The Invasion of Graia (Orks and Chaos) refers to the devastation of the yards of Graia by Ork and Chaos forces in the forty-first millennium. Graia, known as the Crown of Miracles, is a Mechanicus world and the richest forge in the Belt of Iron. Graia’s principal forge network is capable of detaching from the planet and flying, a feature that distinguishes it among the forges of the Belt of Iron. In the forty-first millennium (M41), the yards of the world were devastated on three occasions: first by Orks and by forces of Chaos, and at a later date by a sorcerer, who is associated with the name Malum Caedo. The available record does not specify the dates, commanders or particular engagements of the Ork and Chaos attacks. The Ork and Chaos attacks form part of a pattern of repeated damage to Graia’s industrial facilities during M41. The world’s standing rests on its productive wealth and on the mobility of its main forge network, both unusual among the forges of the Belt of Iron. Graia is also characterised as obstinate, even by the standards of the Mechanicus.
