Malum Caedo

Malum Caedo is a Sternguard Veteran of the Ultramarines First Company and the sole survivor of a drop pod deployment to the forge world Graia. Although Inquisitor Seibel had requested a squad to counter a Chaos invasion, the crash of the insertion craft left Caedo to prosecute the mission accompanied only by an automated servo-skull drone.

The conflict began after rogue tech-priests reactivated Drogan’s power source, enabling the Chaos sorcerer Tumulus Samael to attempt the transformation of Graia into a daemon world. Advancing through hostile positions, Caedo killed enemy forces from cultists to the sorcerer himself and closed the warp rift before Graia could become a second wound in the sector.

Following the engagement, the Inquisition maintained surveillance over the forge world, while Caedo resumed his service as a Sternguard Veteran. Although Macragge does not publicise unilateral wars, Graia preserves the memory of his intervention. His name translates as “I kill evil”, serving on that deployment as an exact description of his role.
