Rift siege of Rynn’s World

The Rift siege of Rynn’s World was a Daemon assault on the Crimson Fists’ home world, broken by the Indomitus Crusade under Roboute Guilliman. Rynn’s World is a mountainous agri-world in the Loki Sector and the home of the Crimson Fists Space Marine Chapter. The siege was the second of two separate assaults the planet suffered. The first assault preceded the siege. In 989.M41 a defence missile misfired and destroyed Arx Tyrannus, the Crimson Fists’ stronghold. The Ork warlord Snagrod’s Waaagh, a massed Ork invasion, then overran every city on the planet except New Rynn City. Daemons later emerged from the Great Rift and laid siege to the planet. The siege ended when the Indomitus Crusade, led by Roboute Guilliman, arrived and broke it. Rynn’s World had thus endured both the Ork invasion and the Daemon siege. New Rynn City remains the only city to have withstood the Ork invasion. The Daemon host was led by the Daemon Prince Rhaxor. Chapter Master Pedro Kantor led three spearheads against the invaders. When Guilliman’s Indomitus Crusade made planetfall and scattered Rhaxor’s host, Guilliman bestowed on Kantor the title of Praetor Encarmine and charged him with the protection and fortification of Rynn’s World and the Loki Sector.
