Rynn’s World

Rynn’s World is a mountainous agri-world in the Loki Sector of Segmentum Tempestus, and the home world of the Crimson Fists Space Marine Chapter. Its position on the frontier, within reach of the Ork-dominated Charadon Sector, made it both a productive world in its own right and a bulwark against greenskin expansion, a role that came to define its later history.

In 989.M41 the world suffered catastrophe when a defence missile misfired and destroyed Arx Tyrannus, the fortress-monastery that served as the Crimson Fists’ home and command centre. The disaster struck as the Ork warlord Snagrod led a massed Waaagh! against the planet, and with the Chapter’s strength and leadership crippled, every city fell in turn except New Rynn City. There, then-Captain Pedro Kantor organised the defence and, as losses among his senior brothers mounted, rose to become Chapter Master. The Crimson Fists held the city until reinforcement broke the siege, though the Chapter emerged reduced to a fraction of its former numbers.

Rynn’s World endured a second great trial after the opening of the Great Rift, when daemonic hosts emerged from the tear in reality to besiege the planet anew. This siege was lifted by the Indomitus Crusade, the campaign led by the returned primarch Roboute Guilliman to secure worlds of the Imperium Sanctus in the wake of the Cicatrix Maledictum, tying Rynn’s World directly to that pivotal chapter of galactic history.

New Rynn City stands today as the only settlement never to have fallen to Snagrod’s invasion, and its survival across two separate assaults, one xenos, one daemonic, is treated as emblematic of the Crimson Fists’ resilience. Rynn’s World remains the Chapter’s home and principal recruiting ground, its rebuilt capital a fixed point linking the Chapter’s founding losses to its continued role in the Imperium’s defence.
