56-Izar

56-Izar was a Saruthi xenos world in the Scarus Sector, recorded under the Vincies Subsector, and is now a dead world. In the mid-41st millennium it held a Saruthi copy of the Necroteuch, the proscribed text whose pursuit had already drawn Inquisitorial attention across the Helican theatre after the burning of an earlier copy at KCX-1288.

An Inquisitorial task force invaded 56-Izar in 240.M41 to destroy that text and its translator. The assault ended the immediate Saruthi bargain over the Necroteuch and first brought Gregor Eisenhorn into contact with the daemonhost Cherubael. Exterminatus followed the destruction of the book.

Little of the world’s surface culture survives in Imperial description beyond its Saruthi affiliation and its end. 56-Izar stands in the record as the place where the second Necroteuch died and where Eisenhorn’s long entanglement with Cherubael began.
