Badab System

The Badab System is a star system in the Badab Sector of Ultima Segmentum, within the Maelstrom Zone, and the principal setting of the Badab War. It comprises a chain of worlds from which Lufgt Huron’s Astral Claws attempted to establish a private domain. The numbered planets Badab I through VII are the charted worlds of that revolt.

Huron’s refusal to pay tithe developed from a dispute involving a single Chapter into a war across the sector, and ultimately led to the founding of the Red Corsairs. Loyalist Chapters spent several years reducing the system’s docks and hives, and the neighbouring Maelstrom made every approach through the void hazardous. Later maps continue to show the Badab System because the origin of the Red Corsairs is a specific place as well as a faction.

The Badab System remains a cautionary reference for any Chapter that treats the authority of the Administratum as optional. Unofficial fan summaries retain the Badab Sector as the parent location and do not merge the numbered worlds into a single hive world named Badab Primaris.
