Cadian Subsector

The Cadian Sub-sector is an administrative division of the Cadian Sector in Segmentum Obscurus, containing the Cadian System and its sister worlds. It forms the inner administrative core of the Cadian Gate. The sister worlds formerly supplied Cadia’s kasrs, the fortified garrison complexes of the fortress world.

For ten millennia the sub-sector provided the administrative framework around the only fleet-scale corridor out of the Eye. Belisar, Farness, Urthwart and the Cadian System itself appear on the same chart. When Cadia’s pylons failed, the sub-sector continued to exist after the loss of the fortress world. It became the remaining barrier on the route, consisting of forge-moons, agricultural bodies and damaged fleet bases. Later defensive planning treats these worlds as the new front rather than as a rear area for Cadian-born regiments.

The sub-sector remains significant because the Cadian Gate is a region rather than a single planet. Unofficial fan maps place the sub-sector under the Cadian Sector. They record Cadia as a descendant entry through the Cadian System, not as a direct child of the sub-sector.
