Carnac

Carnac is a Necron tomb world in the Vidar Sector, inhabited by Eldar Exodites during the Great Sleep and won by Anrakyr the Traveller in 999.M41. The Great Sleep is the long period of dormancy the Necrons underwent before their reawakening. The entry concerns the world that was lost by Alaitoc in that conflict, known as the Carnac Campaign, and not the field of standing stones in Brittany that shares its name.

Starbane, Illic Nightspear, Orikan and Trazyn are all named in connection with the campaign on the planet’s plains. The World Spirit shrine, an Exodite site, passed into Trazyn’s possession as spoil. The Necron tomb beneath the Exodite settlements awoke during these events, and its reawakening decided the contest.

Carnac remains significant as a world specifically reclaimed by Anrakyr. It is not a living maiden world, nor an ordinary agricultural colony of the Vidar Sector. Unofficial summaries retain the Vidar Sector as its parent location and decline to classify it as a surviving Exodite world or as Solemnace.
