Trazyn
Overlord of Solemnace, Archaeovist, The Infinite
Also known as Trazyn the Infinite, Archaeovist of the Solemnace Galleries
Homeworld: Solemnace
Trazyn the Infinite is a Necron Overlord of the Nihilakh Dynasty and Archaeovist of Solemnace, a tomb world remade as the seat of his galleries. In life he was a Necrontyr scribe and chief archivist who oversaw the mummification of phaeron; after biotransference he remembers that past imperfectly. He awoke from the Great Sleep earlier than most of his kind and devoted himself to collecting living specimens, relics and holographic tableaux held in stasis, pledging that the galleries would one day be shared when the Necron race fully awoke. He operates largely independently of dynastic command, is recorded as persona non grata to the Sautekh Dynasty, and is only barely tolerated by other houses when his services are useful. Surrogates often die in his place, so opponents frequently destroy a lychguard or lord rather than Trazyn himself.
His long rivalry with the cryptek Orikan the Diviner centred for nearly ten thousand years on the tomb of the Necrontyr overlord Nephreth on the Eastern Fringe world Serenade, also called Cephris and Cepharil. The contest ran from about M31 through that world’s ages as an Exodite maiden world, an Imperial colony and a dead world after Exterminatus, and ended when both found shards of the C’tan known as the Deceiver rather than Nephreth’s promised wonders. Trazyn fought the Salamanders Forgefather Vulkan He’stan over Artefacts of Vulkan, including during the Tochran Crusade of 943.M41, and in 793.M41 defeated a raid on Solemnace by Inquisitor Helynna Valeria, whom he infected with mindshackle scarabs. He later journeyed to the daemon world Harmony, where Eidolon wounded him; the bargain that secured his withdrawal brought Fabius Bile to Solemnace and left a perfect clone of the primarch Fulgrim among Trazyn’s exhibits.
During the Thirteenth Black Crusade, upheaval in the Solemnace galleries drove Trazyn to consult the Celestial Orrery on the Oruscar crownworld of Thanatos and then to intervene in person on Cadia. There he worked with Archmagos Dominus Belisarius Cawl to activate the planet’s pylons, fought in the closing actions against Abaddon the Despoiler, unleashed much of his collection, and withdrew by teleportation when Cadia’s destruction became certain. One account holds that, as Cadia fell, he removed Lord Castellan Ursarkar E. Creed to a Solemnace gallery labelled the Last Stand of Ursarkar Creed. In M42 he led an expedition to the Maelstrom tomb world Amenthis with Orikan, Phillias, Valeria and the Huntmaster, returned through a portal that also admitted the daemon Pestamutadis the Observer, and took part in the defence of Solemnace that followed.

Key engagements
- Contest for Nephreth’s Tomb (Trazyn the Infinite contested Nephreth’s tomb on Serenade with Orikan the Diviner for nearly ten thousand years from about M31, fought Exodites on Cepharil, later defended Cephris from Orks, and on the dead world helped defeat Deceiver shards found in place of Nephreth’s wonders.)
- 13th Black Crusade / Fall of Cadia (During the Thirteenth Black Crusade Trazyn the Infinite consulted the Celestial Orrery, travelled to Cadia, worked with Belisarius Cawl to activate the pylons, unleashed much of his collection against the Black Legion, and teleported away when the planet was doomed; one account holds that he removed Ursarkar E. Creed to Solemnace.)
- Acquisition of the Fulgrim Clone (On Solemnace Trazyn the Infinite accepted from Fabius Bile a perfect clone of the primarch Fulgrim, together with Flavius Alkenex and his warriors, in the bargain that followed Trazyn’s confrontation with Eidolon on Harmony.)
- Raid on Solemnace (In 793.M41 Trazyn the Infinite led Solemnace’s defence against Inquisitor Helynna Valeria’s raid, destroyed her party’s attack, forced her withdrawal, and infected her with mindshackle scarabs.)
- Tochran Crusade (In the Tochran Crusade of 943.M41 Trazyn the Infinite lured Vulkan He’stan with a false claim to the Song of Entropy and sought the Spear of Vulkan on Tochran; He’stan defeated him after the Salamanders Sixth Company broke a Necron encirclement.)
- Trazyn’s Access to the Celestial Orrery (Trazyn the Infinite, aided by the Huntmaster, obtained use of the Celestial Orrery on Thanatos during the Thirteenth Black Crusade upheavals and traced the crisis to Cadia’s pylons before intervening on that world.)
- Trazyn’s Confrontation on Harmony (Trazyn the Infinite journeyed to Harmony for new specimens, was wounded by Eidolon, and secured safe passage by offering a lost Emperor’s Children gene-seed tithe, which brought Fabius Bile to Solemnace.)
- Defence of Solemnace against Pestamutadis (On Solemnace in M42 Trazyn the Infinite returned from Amenthis as Pestamutadis invaded, fought the corrupted Sothka, freed gallery forces including Creed, and with Orikan and Sannet ended the daemon’s assault and stabilised the world.)
- Expedition to Amenthis (In M42 Trazyn the Infinite led the expedition to Amenthis with Orikan, Phillias, Valeria and the Huntmaster, escaped Pestamutadis’s deception via the Cauldron of Souls, and returned to Solemnace through a portal that also admitted the daemon.)
