Crucible

Crucible is the eighth planet of the Gharn System, on the border between the Thramas and Triplex sectors of the Eastern Fringe. It lies beside the Thramas Exclusion Zone, also called the Crucible Field or Graveyard of Stars, where more than a dozen clustered black holes disrupt warp travel, and the Mechanicum of Triplex kept a research station there under the Ketriox Taghmata, which turned against the Imperium in the Horus Heresy. During the Thramas Crusade the world changed hands several times: the Nightwatch under Captain-General Mordhe held it against Night Lords raids until relieved by the Dark Angels, and late in 008.M31 Konrad Curze led a full Legion assault against it that ended in a costly Night Lords retreat. It is distinct from other worlds of the same name.
