Davin System

The Davin System is the feral-world gravity well in Ultima Segmentum where Horus took a wound on the moon and woke changed in the Serpent Lodge. The 63rd Expedition had numbered the principal world Sixty-Three Eight; later lore just calls it Davin, and that is enough.

Horus fell here in all but name. Davin's moon held the lodge, the blade, and the priests who finished what the wound began. Years afterward Sanguinius would still feel the system's shadow on the Warmaster. The charted well is small — a feral world and its moon — but the Heresy's spiritual centre of gravity sat in this backwater, not on Cthonia or Terra.

The Davin System remains on Heresy maps because the war's turning point was a ritual, not a fleet action. Unofficial fan summaries keep the Ultima parent and do not move Davin into the Eye.
