Davin System

The Davin System, in the Ultima Segmentum, comprises a feral world and its moon, where Horus was wounded and altered in the Serpent Lodge. The 63rd Expedition had designated the principal world Sixty-Three Eight; later accounts refer to it simply as Davin.

Horus received his wound on the system’s moon. The moon also held the Serpent Lodge, the blade, and the priests who completed the change that the wound began. Years afterwards, Sanguinius still perceived the system’s influence on the Warmaster.

The charted system is small, consisting of a feral world and its moon. Nevertheless, the events there form the spiritual centre of the Horus Heresy, rather than Cthonia or Terra. Davin remains on Heresy maps because the turning point of the war was a ritual rather than a fleet action. Unofficial fan summaries retain its placement in the Ultima Segmentum and do not relocate it into the Eye.
