Keffia

Keffia is an agri-world of the Ultima Segmentum, a rural Imperial holding whose settlements and farmlands once sheltered a major genestealer cult. In the late 920s.M41 Imperial Guard forces, including elements of the Valhallan 12th Field Artillery, broke the cult’s open military strength and left the slower work of final cleansing to the Ordo Xenos.

Inquisitor Amberley Vail arrived on Keffia after a delay on the space hulk Dolorous Tidings and took charge of rooting out the remaining infestation. Commissar Ciaphas Cain, who had fought on the world during the Guard phase of the campaign, had already departed for Perlia by the time she made planetfall, so their paths did not cross there.

Keffia thereafter returns to the record chiefly as the agri-world on which Vail’s early Ordo Xenos fieldwork is attested, and as a near-miss in the longer acquaintance of inquisitor and commissar.
